My approach to voicework is an integration of body, breath and voice for healthy speaking, sounding and singing. Learning how to integrate the body, breath and voice connection builds vocal confidence and fluid expression. It is the key principle to the unfolding of the full potential of your voice.

A typical voicework session one-to-one or in a workshop includes breathing and movement exercises to help loosen up the body and relax the breathing apparatus by paying particular attention to areas of tension. As you deepen your connection with your body and breath, begin to open up the throat area through sounds and sighing. Call and response singing moves you from speech to melody allowing the voice to open. As you open your voice I suggest sounding and vocal exercises that help further integrate the body, breath and voice connection which allow you to open your voice more fully whether you are a beginner or a more experienced singer. Group sessions usually include songs that are easily learnt by ear, such as lush African harmonies, catchy South American rhythms, funky rounds and Gospel tunes as well as call and response songs, vocal toning and improvisation... one-to-one sessions also include songs of your choice.
I draw on my practice of movement eg. yoga, Feldenkreis, Gestalt, and conscious breathing to teach singing with your whole body.
